Testimonials

This article/testimony was written by a CHA parent and published in Town Favorites magazine:

"The hallmark of a good teacher is one who possesses an in-depth knowledge of the subject they teach, enthusiasm for the information, good classroom management, and of course, care and concern for the well being of the students. But excellent teachers are those who posses all these qualities and change lives. At Cypress Heights Academy, one teacher in particular has successfully flipped a switch within the hearts of the students, exciting them to excel in ways parents and administrators alike didn't know were possible. Mr. Burges, our young, energetic, and talented music teacher has engendered a love for music within the walls of CHA. He has changed our kids-for the better.

As I watched the annual Christmas play recently, I marveled at what I saw...I was moved to tears by his display. The success of his students was his success. This is the sign of a master teacher and we are blessed he is one of many at CHA. Click HERE to read more...
“Why is this place all about Jesus?” first grader, Stephen Bourgeois, asked his parents. His father replied, “That is because life is all about Jesus.” When the mother told us about this she said, “You know you are at the right place when your son comes home asking you a question like that.”
"Overall I can't imagine a better place to send our children. Your spiritual formation is excellent and that is hard to find. We enjoy the small classes and the personal attention that comes from that. This helps to make you different from the cookie cutter school. We feel it is most important to keep into focus that God created us all differently and knowing this we are impressed at your openness to this realization when it comes to learning styles. We have also been pleased with the gender seperation. We find it especially beneficial for the boys." -CHA Parent
"I just wanted to say thank you all very much for what you all are doing for Cypress Heights Academy. Friday night's "Spirit Night" was a huge success. It was so great to see so many parent's and students attend the event. It truly motivates us all by seeing the school's true spirit.

I had a very moving moment yesterday, as I got to watch Mrs. Tanner interact with the first grade boy's class. She has such a loving spirit about her, and you truly see this when you watch her with these boys. She would smile so graciously as each boy took a turn reading what she had written on the board. She showed such pride in each and every student as they got the answer right. I felt very special yesterday to be able to witness her interacting with her class. There is no doubt in my mind that we are in the right place, here at Cypress Heights!

This past week has opened my eyes and made me very thankful to each and every one of you. Cypress Heights Academy is a very unique school. It has such love and compassion in everything that the school sets out to do. Thank you all for your dedication to the school. I just wanted to let you know that it does not go un-noticed. You all make me very proud to be a part of Cypress Heights! Keep up the great work!" -Mrs. Normand
"The CHA Family Leadership workshop was very informative and practical. My wife and I learned to understand each other better as a couple per Mr. Bennett's "Temperaments," as well as how we can be more effective as parents for our children.

About the school, formation, spirituality in general: CHA certainly positively reinforces students with important moral and spiritual values that we value. It makes our job of parenting that much easier. We’ve always felt that one of the strongest connections that kids can make about the credibility what teacher’s are emphasizing, whether regarding academics or values, is seeing their teacher’s at Mass. It is so wonderful that CHA provides the opportunity for monthly worship services such as the First Friday Masses." -Horcasitas family
Mrs. Margaret Bieser, one of our 2nd grade teachers, recently commented...
“Just when you feel like all your efforts may not be achieving the desired results something like this happens that makes you say: ‘THANK YOU, GOD!’” She went on to explain, “One of my students walked up to me this morning and handed me a crown that she had won the privilege of wearing for practicing virtue in the classroom the week before. When I questioned her why she wanted to give up the Virtue Crown, the child responded that she did not deserve it.  She then said that while she had been practicing virtue in the classroom, she had failed to practice it at home the night before.  She further stated that she wanted to give her crown to another child in the room who had been good.  The crown was passed on to that child. All the girls, as well as myself, were in awe of what we had all witnessed.”
