On Friday, March 4, students in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade visited the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank on Choctaw. They toured the warehouse, were educated on how the food bank operates, and helped to sort donation items.
It was an eye-opening experience in which the students realized to a greater degree, the problem of hunger in our own community. Students were enthusiastic in their desire to help out at the food bank and hope to do more in the near future.
Teachers and chaperones were impressed by the uplifting attitudes and hard working spirits of all the students there.
