Ten Middle School students joined Ms. LeBlanc and Mrs. Tricia Parsons at the 14th annual Abbey Youth Fest in Covington on Saturday, March 22nd. It was a long day of inspirational and motivational speakers and Christian musicians. More than 4,500 high school and middle school boys and girls were gathered on the campus field of St. Joseph's Seminary. 15 priests heard confessions all day. Archbishop Aymond of New Orleans celebrated a Sunday vigil Mass with close to 80 priests. At night, there was a solemn Eucharistic procession. As darkness came over the field, candle tapers were passed around for everyone to light as they prayed in adoration. The teens who attended had a great time together and were altogether touched to see so many other Catholic youth in love with their faith. Cypress Heights hopes to continue bringing students to the Abbey Youth Fest as a beautiful opportunity to grow in their personal faith.
