- Reading readiness through phonics and language experience
- Rhyme, rhythm, letters of the alphabet, and their sounds.
- Activities and ideas are provided that foster the social, emotional, intellectual, aesthetic, and physical development by offering age-appropriate, hands-on experiences.
- Literature appreciation includes distinguishing between real and make-believe and listening to and discussing stories from the Bible, as well as classical and modern children’s books.
- In language development students are encouraged to speak clearly in front of the class using correct grammar.
- Students are asked to articulate their thoughts to the group using complete sentences that develop the beginning, middle, and end of their story.
- Special exercises such as “Show and Tell” are used to further enhance these skills.
